Getting to Cambridge
Railway Station is about a mile away from the city centre of Cambridge. Cambridge is about an hour’s train trip from London. There are a number of direct trans to and from London (King’s Cross and Liverpool Street), Peterborough, Ipswich, Norwich, Leicester and Birmingham.
The Bus and coach station is more centrally situated, at Drummer St. . Most of the city is pedestrianised Monday to Saturday 10:00 – 16:00. and some street are permanently closed to traffic. City centre car parks provide limited short stay parking. Motorists are encourage to use the Park and Rider system on the city’s outskirts.
Cycling is the traditional way of getting around the city. There are several bike hire outlets in the city centre; a list is available from tourist information centre.
