1car1 Branch News
11 January, 2006 -1car1 Launches Newly Designed Website
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new look website, featuring significant layout changes, a new colour scheme and of course our newly designed logo!
We intend to use this new site as a platform to improve on various aspects of our previous sites with particular focus on bringing you information on the wide range of services provided and providing all the information you need about our company and services to have the confidence to book online.
19 November, 2005 - 1CAR1 OFFERS CAR HIRE REFERRAL SCHEME TO GARAGES
Garages and bodyshop repair companies could earn 20% commission each time they book a hire car for their customers through a referral scheme being rolled out by the UKs largest independent vehicle rental company, 1car1.
The scheme, which is intended to provide an additional service strand for customers who rapidly need a hire car particularly if theirs is in for repair, will hinge on the support that 1car1 provides to each participating outlet.
Garages will be provided not only with 1car1 point-of-sale material and booking information but also the required back-up from their local 1car1 branch. On receiving a car hire enquiry, garages will simply place a call to the 1car1 branch and pass on the booking details. For more information, email referrals@1car1.com

PRESTON is the administrative capital of Lancashire and Britain's most recent city. The city has also become the retail, commercial and cultural centre for Lancashire and exhibits a buoyant and vibrant city centre. Close at hand, however, lies impressive countryside such as the verdant Ribble Valley and the upland moors of the dramatic and beautiful Forest of Bowland and Beacon Fell Country Park. The Yorkshire Dales and the magnificent Lake District are all within an hour's drive.
The city lies at the hub of the motorway network. The M6, M61, M65 and M55 motorways bring 50% of the UK's population within a two hour drive. Excellent hourly Intercity rail connections bring both London and Glasgow within two and a half hours travelling time.
Situated in the heart of the colourful county of Lancashire, Preston is the gateway to Lancashire's beautiful landscape and historical sights. Preston, the administrative capital of Lancashire, is the largest and most important commercial centre in the County and it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Preston's history dates back to the Doomsday Book and to 1179 with the granting of the Charter, which gave the right to hold a Guild Merchant every 20 years. The "Once in a Preston Guild" tradition continues to this day and we look forward to the next in 2012.
Five facts about Preston:
- Preston North End Football Club were founder members of the Football League.
- The first Spar Shop '8 til late' opened in 1981.
- Moor Park is Preston's largest and oldest Park and was originally common land derived from the Royal Forest of Fulwood by the Charter of Henry III in 1235. It was one of the first public parks in the country.
- Beacon Fell, on the northern outskirts of Preston, was one of the first Country Parks.
- The restaurant 'Bistro French Live' was featured in the Guiness Book of Records as having the widest selection of wines and spirits in the country. They also have a liquor dating from the 1700's.
